If you know me well enough, you know that I don't let things go. This past year has been proof of that. I don't do it on purpose, I just can't. let. go. I take it as evidence of what one is capable of doing, making sure to take note as to how it has and still effects me. It's not healthy, I'm sure. But I use it as a precautionary defense mechanism. You are sleeping. You look so peaceful. I could make you smile, could make you laugh But I never brought you the peace I so wanted to give.
My eyes shimmer with moisture at that thought but I narrow them and draw it back. There has been so much sadness. So much malicious miscontent. I am wary.
